HOMELE MR. PARK.

It has always been understood hitherto that the Government were adverse to this question baing discussed in any public way. I trust now that they hɛve satherisud this Commission going round in this the manner that it is the remarks of the Honble. Mr. Holyank might be applied with the Governant sɛnetion which, I understand, has always been the difficulty hither to.

MRS. ROLFE.

May I take up three points,

First with r gard to the schools; the Roy:1 Commission considered the question very carefully and seas to the conclusion that until the teachers could be c-refully trained and propared to give that instruction, end until the parents were sufficiently in touch with the ner devel- opments, it wrs not advisable to give clues turching in school.

A brief discription = s then given of what is being done in England; -

Special courses of lectures to teachers, Parents conferences convened by teachers,

Secondly the question of the examination and segregation

of prostitutes has been carefully considered, The British

and American Ministries of Health have both decided

agelast segregated districts, It is impossible to guarantee

security. Better results secured by the provision

fres treatment and the suppression of centres of infection.

Thirdly an explanation of the position of the

Commission in relation to the Government was given.
